Ohio Teen Arrested After Gun, Ammo Found At School
< < Back toREYNOLDSBURG, Ohio (AP) – A central Ohio teen has been in custody since his arrest earlier this month after police say he was found in possession of a loaded handgun and extra ammunition at school.
The Columbus Dispatch reports the 14-year-old suspect was caught with the weapon and an additional extended magazine on Dec. 5 at Reynoldsburg High School’s Summit Campus.
The boy, who attends the suburban Columbus school district’s Encore Academy for the arts, was charged with juvenile counts of carrying a concealed weapon and illegal conveyance of a weapon onto school grounds.
Police say a note was found in the teen’s backpack that said “Don’t forget the gun” along with a phone number belonging to the mother of two Reynoldsburg High students. Those students’ parents say they don’t know the suspect.
