Waterford Overpowers Eastern
< < Back toOut in Waterford the Wildcats came out ready to battle against the Eastern Eagles and took the 76-37 victory.
Waterford’s defense came out and helped its offense get going. The Wildcats played a trapping defense that slowed Eastern but brought the quickness out of the Wildcats.
The Eagles just couldn’t get their offense going early as they trailed 20-8 after the first quarter. Jett Facemyer, who scored 23 of the Eagles’ 37 points in the game, had six points in the first quarter. Facemyer also added 13 points in the second quarter, but Waterford still led at halftime 43-25.
One of the biggest problems for the Eagles was they just could not play as fast of a pace as the Wildcats all night long with the Wildcats defense handling the Eagles offense not allowing them to get into a flow at all tonight.
Waterford’s offense got it going early as they were led by Jordan Welch who scored 14 points but really the Wildcats had a big three as Bryce Hilverding and Andrew Thieman also contributed in the big win with 14 points each. Thieman also had eight rebounds as he was crashing the glass all night long.
