Like a Heat Dream in Near-Midsummer: 2017 Boogie on the Bricks

Athens changes after Ohio University’s spring semester comes to a close. Between the considerably smaller population and the region’s subtropical climate it’s hard to not feel like the city is a different place May through August.

Each June, Boogie on the Bricks brings together townie and summer session student alike for a full day of outdoor imbibing, socialization, and live music during that fantastical time right before midsummer.

Check out these photos, taken by WOUB’s Marie Swartz (who also has served as the event’s dutiful volunteer coordinator for the past several years,) during the exciting almost-dusk hours of 2017’s Boogie on the Bricks.
