The Little Miss Coal Festival Queen Contest at the Wellston Coal Festival was held
on Thursday evening, and the event consisted of five contestants. The contestants were judged on appearance, poise, personality, on stage interview, and a random question the contestants were not able to prepare for. The spectators in the crowd consisted of family members of the contestants as well as people who stumbled upon the show as they were visiting the Coal Festival. The event lasted for roughly 30 minutes before the judges decided on three finalists from the five contestants.
