Singer-songwriter Azniv Korkejian, aka Bedouine, performed her Gladden House Session on Saturday, June 2, the third day of the 2018 Nelsonville Music Festival, quickly captivating her audience with her flowing music and clear voice. With a large crowd assembled to begin with, she drew in even more as she started playing. All jokes and smiles, she made the audience laugh with her throughout her set, even taking a request from an audience member.

Although she has worked professionally as a sound engineer for years, Korkejian didn’t start making her own music until recently, quickly gaining acclaim and recognition for her own work. She was featured as a guest on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts earlier this year, something she described as “a bucket-list thing to do,” and performed on the show Late Night with Seth Meyers a month prior to that. She is currently on tour with Kevin Morby, another performer at the Nelsonville Music Festival.

She started her set with “One of These Days,” one of her favorite songs off of her self-titled debut, Bedouine, released in 2017 by Spacebomb Records. She followed it up with a request from the audience called “Dusty Eyes,” finished up by playing “Skyline,” both selections from the aforementioned debut.
