Body Found ID’d As Missing Chillicothe Man
< < Back to body-found-idd-as-missing-chillicothe-manCHILLICOTHE – A body found by construction workers along Paint Creek on Tuesday has been identified as a Chillicothe man reported missing a week ago.
39–year-old Joshua Whitaker was reported missing on Aug. 8.
The Chillicothe Gazette reports workers from at a construction site spotted a body directly under a bridge along U.S. 23 between the exits for Eastern Avenue and Three Locks Road late Tuesday afternoon.
The Ross County Coroner’s Office reported there was no trauma found, but a determination on the cause and manner of death is pending completion of a full autopsy, which can take more than a month.
Chillicothe Police Chief Keith Washburn says his department received several allegations of foul play, mostly via social media.
