Tri-Valley Remains Undefeated With Win Over Philo

The Tri-Valley Scotties remained undefeated on the season with a 28-14 win over the Philo Electrics (3-2) in the Scotties’ third Muskingum Valley League game of the season.

Tri-Valley opened up the scoring in the second quarter, as senior Blayze Taylor took a punt return 51-yards for the Scotties’ touchdown.  Kicker Kaden Bay’s extra-point would give Tri-Valley the 7-0 lead.

Philo would respond 57 seconds later.

The Electrics’ quarterback Hunter Adolph connected with Carson Stottsberry for a 78-yard touchdown.  Colton Stotts’ extra-point would tie the game at seven.

After a brief rain delay, the game would go to halftime in a 7-7 tie.

Philo would take the lead early in the third quarter as Adolph completed a 20-yard touchdown pass to sophomore Eli Preston, but Tri-Valley would tie the game at 14 thanks to a four-yard touchdown run by senior Chase Kendrick.

The Scotties would take control of the game in the fourth quarter as Fargus completed two touchdown passes to Carson Simpkins of 59 and 95 yards, respectively.

Tri-Valley would finish with 300 yards of total offense, including 223 passing yards.

Fargus would finish the night completing eight of 16 passing attempts, two of which were for touchdowns.  Simpkins would finish with five receptions for 194 yards and two touchdowns.

A majority of Tri-Valley’s rushing attack came from sophomore Jordan Pantaleo, who finished with 85 yards.

For Philo, Adolph completed 18 of his 26 passes, including two touchdowns, and also ran for a team-leading 35 yards.  Stottsberry had four receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown, while senior Aaron Philip and junior Ashlin Bailey and had five receptions each for 35 and 43 yards, respectively.

Tri-Valley will return home next Friday as they host New Lexington and Philo will travel to Sheridan and face the Generals.
