Athens Photo Project Celebrates Two New Exhibitions Oct. 26-27

Please join Athens Photo Project (APP) in the celebration of two new photography exhibitions opening on the weekend of October 26-27 in Uptown Athens, Ohio!

Continuous shuttle service from APP’s Studio (434 W. Union St.) will be available for APP artists and audience members. Feel free to park near APP’s studio and enjoy continuous shuttle service beginning 30min prior to each event and ending 30min after. Light refreshments will be served at each reception.

Opening Reception:
Familiar Places 
The Annual Athens Photo Project Juried Exhibition

Southeast Ohio History Center

Familiar Places features work by 50 artists who participated in APP’s 2017-2018 photography classes. Familiar Places will be on view Wednesday – Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Oct 26 – Jan 5, in conjunction with the Southeast Ohio History Center’s exhibit, The Athens Asylum: 150 Years of a Healing Landscape.

A Thousand Words 
A Public Art Installation by the Athens Photo Project

A Thousand Words is a permanent public art installation created in partnership with the City of Athens. Photographs presented within the installation will rotate on a biennial basis. This inaugural exhibit features work by 33 artists who participated in APP’s 2016-2017 classes.
