Athens Police Investigate Fatal Shooting

Athens Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man on the city’s west side.
According to the Athens Police, officers were dispatched to an apartment at 221 W. Washington St. just before 10 a.m. Sunday morning.
Police found the 55-year-old male victim in the second-floor apartment with a fatal gunshot wound. The identity of the victim will no be released pending notification of next of kin.
