Suspect in Shade Death Appears In Court

ATHENS (WOUB) — A Middleport man facing an aggravated murder charge in the death of a Shade man appeared in court this morning.
Andy Doczi, 37, was placed on $1 million bond with 10 percent allowed after an initial appearance in Athens County Municipal Court
Doczi is charged with aggravated murder, a first-degree felony, in the death of Andrew Everett, 33, of Shade.
Doczi was arrested after Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a call on May 23 about a body found outside the residence at 15010 Fossil Rock Road.
Deputies arrived on scene and discovered Everett dead from a single gunshot wound to the head.
He is listed as an inmate at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 3 in municipal court.
