WYD closed out Sunday night at the 2019 Nelsonville Music Festival with a delicate, yet piquant and dignifying performance, leaving the audience in awe amidst the trio’s organic lyricism, oscillating keyboards, and smooth punk percussions. Traveling just over an hour north from Columbus, Carly Fratianne, Maddy Ciampa, and Courtney Hall provided a beautiful and striking end to the Nelsonville Music Festival Gladden House Sessions.

The trio started as a bedroom-recording duo that morphed into a self-described “queer death pop” band; embracing their seductive sounds, haunting melodies, and lethal emo-rock vibes. Between incorporating precise and detailed riffs and impulsive and sensory overlaps, the band has created a unique, atmospheric soundscape that they perform with today.

WYD performed “After,” followed by “Death,” and “Sick,” all from their latest, entitled SICK/DEATH/AFTER (self-released, 2019). They ended with their unreleased track, “LMK.”
