After Lengthy Delay, Gallia Academy Drops Meigs, 24-0

The Marauders were tasked with facing Gallia Academy. The Blue Devils finished 2018 with a 9-2 overall record, including a victory over Meigs in week one of that season, 47-34.
After a weather delay of over an hour, Meigs and Gallia Academy took the field for the first time in 2019. The Marauders struggled on offense and were called for several penalties, while Gallia Academy provided enough offense to leave Pomeroy with a 24-0 win.
The Blue Devils opened the scoring midway through the first quarter with a 27-yard field goal by Andrew Toler.
Early in the second quarter, James Armstrong added a 60-yard touchdown run to give Gallia Academy the 10-0 lead.
In the second half, the Blue Devils added a touchdown after a long drive started by a forced turnover. Gallia Academy led 17-0 after three quarters.
The Blue Devils added one more touchdown with 5:52 left in the game after another forced turnover.
Next week, Meigs will travel to Rock Hill, while Gallia Academy will travel to face another TVC-Ohio team, River Valley.
