It was a tough day for the Ohio Women’s basketball team.

After coming off a big win against Kent State the squad just couldn’t seem to get it  done. With the final score coming to be 69-53, it was clear Saturday  was not the day the Bobcats.

The Bowling Green Falcons (14-4, 10-3 MAC) have shown much improvement this season, and with the Bobcats (10-6, 8-5) missing one of their key players, Erica Johnson, they had their hands full.

Caitlyn Kroll and Madi Mace led the way for Ohio in scoring with 13 points each, while CeCe Hooks slightly trailed with 12.

Bowling Green led from beginning to end, jumping out with a quick six points. The Bobcats never were able to catch up and steal the lead.

With Ohio only shooting 34 percent, the team faced its fair share of struggles.

One aspect the Falcons were able to capitalize on was turnovers. 25 of their points came off Bobcat turnovers which shows how important this part of the game is.

The Bobcats did do some work in the paint with 35 rebounds, and 20 of their points coming from down in the paint. Jasmine Hale and Madi Mace both snagged themselves seven rebounds apiece to lead the ‘Cats in that aspect.

With Bowling Green inching closer to a solid seed in the MAC tournament, the two teams will face off again on
February 24th, this time Ohio hopes they can turn the game around.

The Bobcats are next scheduled to play at Ball State on Wednesday night.  The Cardinals won the first meeting, 88-85, back on Jan. 13 in Athens.  Tip-off from Worthen Arena in Muncie is set for 7 p.m.
