Keller Blackburn said law enforcement has made contact with Serah Bellar and she is safe.

Bellar was reported missing on April 3, 2020. She was 16 at the time and just a few weeks shy of her 17th birthday.

On Monday evening, Bellar wrote a lengthy Facebook post under the name Delilah Rose Price. She said she waited to resurface until she turned 18 and was legally an adult. She explained her reasons for disappearing for so long, including multiple allegations involving abuse by members of her family.

Blackburn said law enforcement is prepared to investigate her claims. “If she wants to move forward with the allegations, we will investigate those thoroughly,” he said.

Bellar updated her Facebook page early Wednesday afternoon with a recent photo of herself.

She wrote: “Just wanted to post a picture so everyone KNEW I was safe and it’s really me. Thank you so much to everyone who has my back in getting justice WITH me!”

Her original post has drawn considerable attention, with hundreds of comments from people in the Athens area and around the country.
