MCARTHUR, Ohio (WOUB) — Two games in and things are already looking up for Vinton County football. It seems new head coach T.J. Carper has succeeded in assembling a lockdown defense.

Forced turnovers and pass rushers have made all the difference for the Vikings, who have allowed just one touchdown thus far.

“We all play as a team, we all stay focused on our jobs, and we just come hard in practice every day,” linebacker Dawson Brown said. “Learned all of it from Lil Vikes to middle school … and then when you get up here, it’s all system, really. Just do what your coaches tell you.”

Vinton County looks to maintain their defensive prowess on the road against Zane Trace.
