BELPRE, Ohio (WOUB) – After giving up 81 points to the Meigs Marauders in a week two defeat, the Belpre Golden Eagles welcomed the Alexander Spartans in hopes of getting back in the win column.

The Spartans ferocious defense proved to be too much for the Golden Eagles as Alexander dominates Belpre 55-14.

Alexander came out firing quick as quarterback Jordan Shultz would drop a 32 yard dime into the hands of Landen Alhouse for the early touchdown.

Belpre’s moral seemed to be destroyed early as on their opening drive of the game, Julian Martin fumbles the ball in their own territory.

The Alexander defense proved to be a problem all night as on the next Golden Eagle drive, the Spartans were able to force a three with two sacks on Willis Starcher.

The Spartan offense seemed to build off the momentum of the defense.

After forcing the three and out, Jordan Shultz would find Logan Jenkins from fourteen yards out to extend the lead 13-0

The Alexander defense showed no signs of slowing down and it proved to be too much for the Golden Eagles.

On the pursuing Belpre possession, Willis Starcher dropped back to pass, faced pressure and fumbled.

The Golden Eagles offense started to pick things up thanks to Willis Startcher finding Julian Martin for a 10 yard touchdown.

However, for every score Belpre put up, the Spartans were right there to match it.

After giving up two scoring drives, the Spartans defense came back to life with back to back interceptions including a pick-six by Jordan Jackson.
