Defensive Standoff Ends In Favor Of Liberty Union
< < Back toBALTIMORE, Ohio (WOUB) — With the help of defensive back Jacob Denney, Liberty Union effectively held the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes to just six points.
It’s the Lions’ second win of the season, but it wasn’t as pretty as last week’s 37-0 shutout.
“Sometimes good teams just have to win an ugly game,” head coach Daniel Shirey said.
Next week, Liberty Union (2-1) is home for a showdown with unexpected powerhouse Amanda-Clearcreek (2-1). Meanwhile, Nelsonville-York (0-3) will seek their first win of the season against River Valley (1-0).
