BEVERLY, Ohio (WOUB) — The Warren Warriors (2-2) traveled to Fort Frye (4-0) to take on the Cadets in an Ohio Valley Athletic Conference matchup.

Fort Frye started out strong, driving all the way down the field with a big pass play from Ian Ellis to Clayton Miller. The Warriors defense eventually set up a key 4th and Goal that resulted in a Warren sack and a turnover on downs.

Warren’s offense struggled early, and Fort Frye took advantage with their Flexbone playbook. Maeson Long put the team on his back, eventually marching into the endzone, giving the Cadets a 7-0 lead.

The Fort Frye defense was ready to play, forcing two first half turnovers. However, the flags were flying against the Cadets, leading to back-to-back drives stalling out with punts.

The Cadets eventually put things together, as Maeson Long battled his way for six with another touchdown run. Long ended the first half with 61 total rushing yards. The Cadets led 14-0 at the half and rode that lead to a 33-7 victory.

Fort Frye continues their undefeated season, gaining win number five. They will face the Trimble Tomcats in Glouster next Friday night for a big matchup between two top tier programs. The Warren Warriors fall to 2-3 on the season and will face Dover at home for their Week 6 matchup.
