Granville Excels Under Leadership Of Senior Quarterback

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WOUB) — The Bishop Watterson Eagles took on the Granville Blue Aces at Ohio Dominican University’s Football Field. The Blue Aces, coming off a game canceled by COIVD-19, were eager to get back on the field. After the first quarter, things started off hot for the Eagles as they went up 10-0. However, after the first quarter, Granville went on to score 32 unanswered.

Quarterback Ryan Rudzinski was able to get Bishop Watterson up early by completing a pass to Eddie Vanausdle for a 58-yard touchdown, he also led a drive that ended in a field goal.

Quarterback Carsyn Crouch led the offense to score 23 points in the second quarter and entered halftime with all the momentum.

After halftime, Christin Hilton was able to return the halftime kickoff for a touchdown making the score 30-10. Then, the Granville defense came up big by stopping the Eagles deep in their territory and managing to get a safety on special teams that brought the Blue Aces up 32-10.

The Blue Aces defense played extremely well in the second half. They forced a punt on every drive and were able to keep Bishop Watterson out of the red zone the entire second half.

Quarterback Carsyn Crouch finished the game with 154 passing yards and two touchdowns in the air and on his legs had 71 rushing yards and one touchdown.

Wide receiver Caden McDermott also had a really huge game with five catches for 108 yards and two touchdowns, he was also able to get two tackles on the defensive side of the ball.

Return man Christan Hilton played a huge role in setting the Granville offense in a good position by averaging 32 yards per kick return.

The Blue Aces (6-0) hope to continue the undefeated streak as they return home to play Zanesville (4-2) as for Bishop Watterson (4-3) they hope to bounce back on the road as they play St. Francis Desales (3-4).
