The unofficial 2021 General Election results for Vinton County

VINTON COUNTY, Ohio (WOUB) — The contested races in Vinton County have been decided, with 29.79% turnout of eligible voters.

Cindy L. Strausbaugh (1,560), Laura Ann Martin (1,190) and Scarlet Newton (858) secured three open seats on the Vinton County Board of Education. 

In the township of Brown, Daniel Sheets (42 votes) and Floyd Largent (35 votes) won seats as trustees.

In the township of Eagle, Roger Channell won a trustee seat with 49 votes.

Two trustee seats in the township of Knox went to William Morris with 97 votes and Stewart Hall Jr. with 89 votes. 

The village of McArthur did not pass the Sensible Marijuana Ordinance with 183, or 55%, voting against it. This ordinance would have lowered the penalties for misdemeanor marijuana offenses to the lowest penalty allowed by state law.

The village of Hamden 6 mill police services levy renewal passed with 102 votes.

In the township of Clinton, a levy for an additional 1 mill for cemeteries passed with 209 votes, and a levy for an additional 0.5 mill for fire and emergency medical services passed with 212 votes.

The township of Vinton passed a 1 mill levy renewal for roads and bridges with 73 votes and a 0.5 mill levy renewal for trash service with 79 votes.

The township of Wilkesville passed a levy renewal for trash service with 130 votes.

The township of Knox passed a 2 mills road improvement renewal tax levy with 124 votes.

In the township of Madison, a 1 mill cemetery levy renewal passed with 108 votes.

The township of Swan passed a 0.5 mill levy renewal with 109 votes.
