SCHEDULE: December 4, 2021

9 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Doglady Votaw
12 p.m. – 3 p.m.  Dave Baer’s Lair
3 p.m. – 6 p.m. – Michael T.
6 p.m. – 9 p.m. – Excursions: Jazz Motifs w/ Art Cromwell

From Doglady Votaw (9 a.m. to 12 p.m.)

I haven’t been on the radio in a long time, and I’ve back with about a million songs I’m excited to play and a brand new moniker I came up with after watching Andy Kaufman on “Midnight Special,” with his special friend and host Wolfman Jack. Sure, I am a 5’3″ small lady with a high pitched voice (that has been described as “Minnie Mouse-esque”) and Wolfman Jack was a 5’10” large man with a gravelly voice (the opposite of the kind you’d use in a Disney cartoon) but you know what? I bet he and I would have some interesting exchanges about music if we could drop our bodies and communicate as spirits (which we would have to, since he’s been dead for 20+ years)!

Join me from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. tomorrow to get lost in canyons of your mind and be subjected to all my newest obsessions, notably the Bonzo Dog Band, The Rutles, The Mothers of Invention, The City, and all of Neil Young’s records that you’re supposed to hate!

Excursions: Jazz Motifs w/ Art Cromwell – “God’s Trombones”

Borrowing the title from James Weldon Johnson’s volume of poetry “God’s Trombones,”  Excursions celebrates the 93rd birthday (Dec. 10) of Mr. Jack Jeffers, bass trombonist/tuba player, band leader, arranger, music contractor.

In addition we remember the life and work of trombonist/arranger/composer, Locksley Wellington “Slide” Hampton, who transitioned Nov. 18. 2021.
