The game started out strong from both sides as the Tomcats and Golden Eagles were trading bucket after bucket. At the end of the first quarter the Tomcats lead the Golden Eagles 21-17.
In that first quarter we saw Blake Guffey, Tyler Webber, Austin Wisor, and Bryce Downs all scoring for the Tomcats. As for Belpre Tucker Liston and Jacob Smeeks did most of the work on offense.
Trimble created more space in the second quarter going on small runs, but it seemed like every time they would gain a sizeable lead, Belpre was knocking down 3-point shots to stay in the game. Trimble took a 10-point lead into halftime the score being 35-25.
In the second half Trimble began to run away with the game. They came out in a half court press that was able to slow the Golden Eagles down on offense. The Tomcats ran the floor well scoring off fast breaks and knocking down a few three pointers of their own.
The Tomcats also capitalized off many second chance opportunities. They were getting offensive rebounds and going up strong for many easy baskets, as well as multiple and-1 scores.
Trimble came away with a 67-44 victory over the Golden Eagles. The Tomcats had four of their starters score 62 of their 67 points, Wisor with 21 Guffey with 15, and Downs and Webber added 13 points of their own.
The Tomcats (11-0, 6-0) look to continue their undefeated season on Tuesday, January 25th against the conference rival Waterford Wildcats (11-3, 5-2), in what should be a great TVC-Hocking matchup.
