DeWine on Tuesday topped three far-right opponents, including ex-U.S. Rep Jim Renacci.
The four-way Republican primary played to DeWine’s advantage as voters upset with his strict pandemic policies split their support among his challengers.
DeWine will be a favorite again in November against the winner of the state’s Democratic primary, Nan Whaley.
Ohio hasn’t elected a Democrat governor since 2006.
DeWine won a shot at a second term by relying on a huge fundraising advantage and a big network of supporters.
