Virginia-based Atlantic Emergency Solutions has six locations in Ohio, with the Morgan County facility the largest and about to get bigger.

The planned expansion includes purchasing the property the company has been leasing north of McConnelsville, a 10,000-square-foot building expansion, and installing a powder coating and painting line at the facility.

The company said the expansion will create 17 high-wage jobs. JobsOhio supported the project with a $125,000 grant toward property acquisition and construction, and Ohio Southeast Economic Development assisted with the grant process.

“When we have an opportunity like this to work with a company that is growing and bringing in dollars from all over the country, they’re not just trading the dollars that are already here,” said Mike Jacoby, president of Ohio Southeast Economic Development. “They are creating a product or a service that is bringing new money into the area that is creating new high-paying jobs.”

Jacoby said this expansion could lead to more jobs down the road.

“I certainly think there is opportunity for more growth in the area … and this is I assume a market where there will always be a need for this type of product,” he said.
