PBS Media Literacy Educator Certification Academy New Cohort For 2023

teacher grading papers at deskOnce again Ohio PBS stations are working collaboratively to bring the PBS Media Literacy Academy to Ohio’s educators.  This cohort program will offer support to Ohio teachers wishing to complete the PBS Media Literacy certification.  Participants can earn each of the eight microcredentials, receive professional development time and optional graduate credit.

The courses are open to all Ohio educators, including PreK-12 classroom teachers, librarians, TOSAs and anyone who wants to make media-rich, digitally-savvy learning available to students. The Academy will give you the skills and experience you need to connect the dots between digital citizenship, media literacy, 21st Century skills and national curriculum standards while completing the requirements for the PBS Media Literacy Educator Certification.

This year’s sessions are offered asynchronously and will allow teachers the flexibility to complete projects on their own time.  Ohio PBS Ed Tech consultants will be providing recorded lessons and follow up support for teachers to complete projects for submission for microcredentials through a Google Classroom.  Participants seeking graduate credit will use credential submissions as evidence.
