ATHENS, OH – WOUB FM Radio listeners in the Ironton area may not be able to tune in on 89.1 from December 5 to December 9. The WOUL FM transmitter will be broadcasting at a highly reduced power level during that week and the low power level will drastically reduce the size of the coverage area. The power reduction will occur between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. each day.

“This outage is necessary for the protection of workers performing necessary maintenance on the tower structure,” said WOUB Chief Technology Officer Stephen Skidmore.

The power reduction may even result in a complete loss of coverage in the outlying areas. Inclement weather may alter the work schedule.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” said Skidmore.

WOUB FM will continue to stream online during this work. Those interested in listening to the online stream can find it at woub.org/listen or on the WOUB Public Media App.
