OETC 23 is Back!

There is still time to register for OETC 23. We are so excited to meet face to face. Ohio PBS Ed Techs have worked hard on several workshops and hands on playground learning. Our booth will have giveaways and hands on learning as well. Hope to see you there.

PBS Learning Media contains many great resources for teaching about Black History to students of all ages. This collection explores Black Leaders, Culture, Social Justice, and scientific contributions of Black people in America.

Ohio Ready to Learn

February

Please join us in February for our Early Learning Workshops. If you are interested in a session please register soon. Workshops with less than 5 participants will be rescheduled. We have lots of fun materials and PBS resources to share with you.

Virtual attendees will receive workshop materials and books in the mail after workshop completion. In-person participants will have the opportunity to network with other providers, create materials for your program, and receive books and other materials to support the topics from the workshop. Participants who attend three of WOUB’s sessions will be entered into a drawing for one of 10 Kindle Fire Tablets preloaded with PBS Kids games and apps.

Ohio Learns 360

The Ohio Learns 360 project has some new activities this month. On Feb 8th at 6pm our Parent Webinar guest experts discuss the science of reading and provide tips that families can immediately put into practice at home. Also, join a Virtual Field Trip on Feb 16th at 5pm to the Football Hall of Fame. You can check out these activities and links to previous ones on the Ohio Learns 360 website.

“The U.S. and the Holocaust”

Virtual Educator Workshop

Join this one-hour virtual conversation on Tuesday, February 7 that will spotlight PBS LearningMedia lessons supporting the documentary, “The U.S. and the Holocaust.” Our panelists will share tools and techniques for integrating video clips and other media into your classroom to deepen your students’ understanding of the Holocaust. The event will feature teachers who wrote lesson plans on media literacy, immigration, the refugee crisis, antisemitism, and more. Check out other history resources from PBSLearning Media here.
