What to expect at the 2023 Nelsonville Music Festival

NELSONVILLE, Ohio (WOUB) — The Nelsonville Music Festival returns tomorrow for the second year at Snow Fork Event Center (5685 Happy Hollow Rd.)
Find a brief outline of several highlights to look forward to this weekend below.
Thursday opens with only two evening acts at the festival’s Campground Stage – Mississippi Delta Roots band FERD at 8:30 p.m., and country band Hearts Gone South at 10 p.m.
Friday kicks off at noon with local noise duo Weedghost, on Porch Stage. Weedghost have long opened the festival with their performance. Watch WOUB’s interview with the group at the 2019 festival.
Lots of performers are slated for Friday – including the genre-bending yet trad-jazz/country inclined Sierra Ferrell. Watch WOUB’s Gladden House Session starring Ferrell from 2019; and listen to WOUB’s 2022 interview with the singer right here..
Friday culminates with psychedelic rockers Kurt Vile & the Violators on the Snow Fork Stage at 9:30 p.m.
Saturday’s festivities begin bright and early at 9:30 a.m. with a yoga session with Jiu-Jitsu fighter and studio owner Michele Argeroplos.
Legendary songwriter and guitarist Lucinda Williams performs Saturday at the festival, as does the Sturgill Simpson-endorsed Margo Price. Saturday wraps up with low-fi indie rocker Alex G on the Snow Fork Stage.
On Sunday, Argeroplos once again begins the day with a yoga session, this time at 9 a.m. New York-based indie rock group Wild Pink, folk singer Jake Xerxes Fussell and Canadian indie pop band Alvvays all have acts during the day.
Indie folk rockers Big Thief close down the Snow Fork Stage Sunday night. After that the party moves to the Campground Stage, where DJ Adam Scoppa’s all-vinyl DJ set – Heatwave – closes down the festival.
