NELSONVILLE, Ohio (WOUB) – The audience was filled with fire as California native Jesse Daniel and his band closed out Friday night at the Creekside Stage. Daniel performed multiple times over the course of the festival, adding onto the impressive 50,000 miles that he has toured in 2023 alone.

In 2018, Jesse Daniel (Die True Records) catapulted Daniel into glow of the critical spotlight. He went on to record and subsequently release his second full-length, Rollin’ On (Die True Records), just as the pandemic and lockdowns were taking effect. Daniel used the pandemic downtime to write what critics have called his most impressive work to date, which he released in July 2021: Beyond These Walls (Die True Records).

For his Sycamore Session, Daniel’s band line up included his fiancée, Jodi Lyford, on backing vocals and percussion; Joey Kukura on electric guitar; Caleb Melo on pedal steel; Eddie B. Salomón on bass; and Kristopher Schoen on drums.

All performances took place during the 2023 Nelsonville Music Festival, which is a production of Stuart’s Opera House.
