Prior to coming to Ohio University for graduate studies, Art Cromwell had a twenty-year career in public television and radio. His program “Excursions” explores various intersections of Jazz’s eras, genres, and generations of Jazz artists. The show was broadcast on WOUB-FM from 1988-1992, and currently is part of WOUB-AM’s “Radio Free Athens” since
2016.

While “new” recordings are always of interest, my pursuit of recorded music also includes newly unreleased sessions, or
recently discovered tapes that expand artists’ discographies and broaden radio presentation possibilities. A few of my 2023 selections in the aforementioned categories are:
