WOUB is celebrating Leap Day during its next radio pledge drive

ATHENS, OH – February 29th only happens every four years. That’s why it’s an ideal time to do something special. WOUB will ask listeners to honor the unique day and Take the Leap by making a donation to WOUB during its two-day radio pledge drive. And thanks to matching donations from several longtime members, every donation made on Thursday, February 29 and Friday, March 1 will be matched dollar for dollar.
“We hope our listeners will celebrate Leap Day by becoming a member of their public radio station,” said WOUB General Manager Mark Brewer. “And thanks to generous donations from current members, we are offering dollar-for-dollar matches for every donation that comes in during this limited two-day drive. We need to ask members to support our programming, but we want to limit pledge drive interruptions to that programming as much as possible.”
Member support is crucial for WOUB to be able to continue to provide the quality public media programming people in this region have come to rely on. Listeners who spend quality time with WOUB propel our programs and services forward by taking the next logical step: funding our mission through financial support.
“Donations from our members directly support the local and national news programming that help bring important information to our region, as well as the regional music and entertainment programming,” said Brewer. “WOUB has an important role in this community, and we hope our listeners will support that work during this pledge drive.”
