Season Preview: Miami Trace and their quest to win the FAC
< < Back toWASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio (WOUB) — As Miami Trace Football gears up for 2024, the stakes have never been higher. The team is setting its sights on a goal it has yet to achieve—winning the FAC. According to star offensive tackle Adam Guthrie, the Panthers believe they have what it takes to make this a reality.
“I mean, we all believe we can win the FAC and more games,” Guthrie said. “So, we just want to believe that and continue to work.”
To claim the FAC crown, Miami Trace will need to take the title from the Jackson Ironmen. Jackson has dominated the conference for the past three seasons, including a decisive 42-13 victory over the Panthers last year. Despite this challenge, the Miami Trace program remains confident in its ability to compete. “Jackson is going to be at the top each and every year,” said Jerry Williams.
“Jackson’s physical, Jackson’s strong. It’s a good football team with a good coach,” Williams continued. “We’ve just got to match them with speed, strength, and determination to win. We need to focus on Waverly and our first game, but we know the conference championship has been going through Jackson, and we know what we’ve got to do to get there.”
The Panthers’ determination was evident last season. They bounced back from their loss to Jackson with an impressive playoff victory over Hamilton Township. This win gave the team a significant boost heading into the 2024 season.
Star ATH Cooper Enochs highlights the progress made by senior quarterback Trey Robinette.
“I think just his confidence as a senior, and he’s still got real good receivers and a good line in front of him,” Enochs noted. “There’s not much more than that.”
The Miami Trace Panthers are entering the new season with a clear focus and high expectations. Enochs, Guthrie, and Williams each used one word to encapsulate the team’s mindset for 2024.
Enochs: “Dominate,” Guthrie: “Winning,” Williams: “Confidence.”
