GLOUSTER, Ohio (WOUB) – The Trimble Tomcats and Waterford Wildcats met in an interconference battle in Glouster. The game had huge implications for who would win the TVC-Hocking title. The Wildcats would walk away with a 14-6 win.

The matchup started extremely slow, as the first quarter consisted of only two drives. On the first, Waterford pushed their way down the field with force. The big play of the drive came from Colten Jones who ran it for 30 yards to the 35-yard line. That being said, penalties would plague the Wildcats, and they would end up turning the ball over on downs.

After getting the ball back, the Tomcats started their very own long drive at the 13-yard line, gaining small chunks of yardage down the field. The plays were short until Luke Orsbourne found a hole and ran for 20, putting Trimble in Waterford territory. They would continue their methodical pace and make it down to the one-yard line where Brady Jajczyk would punch it in for the first score of the game. After the missed two-point conversion, the Tomcats led 6-0.

It was now time to speed things up for the Wildcats. It took one single play for Trevin Zimmer to run for 65 yards to the house, after the extra point, Waterford took the lead, 7-0.

Trimble looked to respond but Brady Jajczyk threw deep right into the arms of the opposition. Finnely Pennock grabbed the interception and ran the ball to the 24-yard line.

It took a single play for the Wildcats to respond. Quarterback Hayden Jones passed it to Zavier Heiss who ran 24 yards to the endzone, Waterford led 14-6.

Both teams’ defenses stepped up for the remainder of the game, as another point was not scored after the 6:30 mark in the second quarter.  The Wildcats ended up taking the game, 14-6.

Waterford’s win knocks the Tomcats out of the race for the TVC-Hocking title. If the Wildcats can beat Belpre next week, they will win the title outright. If they lose and the Eastern Eagles win against the Southern Tornadoes, it will be a two-way tie between the two.
