TVC-Ohio Standings: No movement as teams look towards 2025

TVC-Ohio Boys’ Standings 

This week in the TVC-Ohio, the Meigs boys remain undefeated after taking down Jackson.  Alexander, Athens, and River Valley were all able to pick up wins this week.  The Athens girls dropped their first contest of the season, falling to Waterford.  Second place Alexander and third place River Valley added on to their win totals this week as well. 

1.Meigs Marauders | 8-0 (Conf. 3-0)

It had been over a week since the Marauders saw action on the court, but an eight-day break didn’t stop them from topping the Jackson Ironmen in a non-conference matchup on Saturday. Meigs won 79-67 at home.  

The Marauders will look to continue their eight-game win streak with two home matchups this week against Marietta on Tuesday and River Valley on Saturday. 

2. Vinton County Vikings | 4-4 (Conf. 3-1)

Coming back from a 10-day break due to Christmas, Vinton County hosted South Webster in nonconference action. The Vikings couldn’t keep up with the Jeeps, falling 76-44. It’s been an up and down start to the season so far, but Vinton County has a chance to get back on track Saturday night at Jackson. 

T3. Nelsonville-York Buckeyes | 6-2 (Conf. 2-1)

After an eleven day hiatus, the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes returned to action on Saturday against Portsmouth West High School. The Buckeyes fell to their non-conference opponent 60-40 at home. 

Fans can expect to see Nelsonville-York back at home during the new year against New Lexington High School in another non-conference matchup. 

T3. Athens Bulldogs | 5-4 (Conf. 2-1)

The Athens boys played two games this past week, starting off with a 58-54 win over the Belpre Golden Eagles on Monday. This broke their two-game losing streak, and after the holiday break they took a trip to Trimble to face off with the Tomcats. Another 51-34 victory in that game improves the Bulldogs record to 5-4 overall and 2-1 in the TVC-Ohio. 

After some time off, the Bulldogs will return to the hardwood on January 7 for another conference matchup against Wellston, who they currently sit above in the conference standings. 

Wellston Golden Rockets logoT3. Wellston Golden Rockets | 2-6 (Conf. 2-1)

After a tough loss at Waterford last week, the Wellston Golden Rockets headed back out Saturday to take on the Southeastern Panthers. The Golden Rockets fell to the Panthers 60-41 in another tough loss.  

Wellston will look to redeem themselves and fight a losing streak on January third as they welcome conference opponent Federal Hocking at home.  

T7. Alexander Spartans | 2-7 (Conf. 0-4)

Alexander was able to pick up its second win of the season against Waterford in the final game of the Spartan Classic Tournament. Jace Cooper was named Circle B Boutique player of the game for the Spartans.   

Looking ahead for Alexander, they will travel to Huntington on Saturday. Their next conference game will be on Jan. 14 against River Valley. 

T7. River Valley Raiders | 2-7 (Conf. 0-4)

 River Valley picked up their second win of the season on their home court against Oak Hill on Saturday. This win broke the Raiders’ 6 game losing streak giving them momentum to take on a packed schedule this upcoming week.  

River Valley will play away at Unioto tomorrow, welcome the Eastern Eagles at home on Friday night and take on Symmes Valley at home on Saturday. 

TVC-Ohio Girls’ Standings

1. Athens Bulldogs | 8-1 (Conf. 4-0)

The Athens Lady Bulldogs still sit atop the TVC-Ohio with a 4-0 conference record, but they fell short against the Waterford Wildcats on Monday. The 54-39 loss is the first of the season for this team. On Saturday, they pulled off a narrow 52-50 victory against the Warren G. Harding Raiders at home, led by Quinn Banks with 20 points, six rebounds and two assists. 

After a few days off, the Lady Bulldogs will travel to Marietta to play the undefeated Tigers on Friday.

2. Alexander Spartans | 5-2 (Conf. 3-1)

Alexander’s lone win of this week was a 58-39 victory over Crooksville. Lily Ryder was named player of the game, sponsored by Shawna Stump.  

This upcoming week features three tough nonconference opponents. Starting Monday with South Gallia, staying at home again to host Belpre, and capping off the week with a trip to Huntington. Alexander will play five games in ten days, playing Nelsonville-York and Meigs on January 6th and 8th. 

3. River Valley Raiders | 6-4 (Conf. 3-2)

The River Valley Raiders came into this week of play hot off two in-conference wins against Nelsonville-York and Vinton County. And they kept this momentum going, taking their third win in a row over Oak Hill dominating 45-25. 

The Raiders will play three games at home this upcoming week welcoming the Eastern Eagles on Monday, Symmes Valley on Thursday and taking on the Southern Tornadoes Saturday night. 

T4. Vinton County Vikings | 6-4 (Conf. 2-2)

The Lady Vikings stayed busy even during Christmas week, getting in two nonconference games against FAC opponents. Vinton County took down Chillicothe 53-33 on the 23rd but fell to Washington Court House on the 28th. If you might recall, Vinton County beat the Blue Lions in the postseason last season. The Lady Vikings are staying busy this week as well, hosting Zane Trace while travelling to Northwest and Jackson.  

 

T4. Nelsonville-York Buckeyes | 3-5 (Conf. 2-2)

With no competitions in nearly two weeks, the Nelsonville-York Lady Buckeyes have been preparing for a cross-conference rival. The Lady Buckeyes are scheduled to face Federal Hocking on Monday.  

Wellston Golden Rockets logo 6. Wellston Golden Rockets | 4-5 (Conf. 1-3)

The Wellston Golden Rockets travelled across state lines to West Virginia on Saturday to battle Point Pleasant. The Golden Rockets ultimately fell to Point Pleasant who ran away with the win 55-39. 

Wellston will take a 4-day break before travelling back to West Virginia to take on the Wahama White Falcons on Friday. 

7.Meigs Marauders| 0-8 (Conf. 0-5)

The Lady Marauders had only one matchup last week prior to the holiday. They traveled to Southern on Monday for a cross-conference matchup against the 8-4 Lady Tornados. They lost 60-33 on the road. 

Meigs has just one game this week. They’ll hope to take their first season win at home against Point Pleasant on Thursday.
