The Laughing Chimes release music video for second ‘Whispers in the Speech Machine’ single and new goth anthem ‘Cats Go Car Watching’

ATHENS, Ohio (WOUB) – Athens’ premier “jangle pop” group, The Laughing Chimes, just released the official video for Cats Go Car Watching, a new single off their upcoming full-length album, Whispers in the Speech Machine (out via Slumberland Records on January 31).
Featuring Doja the cat and “her plush buddy,” the music video complements the effortlessly pretty, yet melancholic vibe listeners seek in a proper “goth anthem.”
Comparisons to the Boys Don’t Cry-era Cure are apt. The clean ache of post-punk jangly guitar initially catches your ear, but what hooks you and keeps you coming back for more is the rhythmic bounce of the bass guitar.
