“Hardwood Heroes” returns January 19 for 15th season

ATHENS, OH – It’s time for another exciting season of southeast Ohio high school basketball and Hardwood Heroes (HH). The show returns Sunday, January 19 at 11 p.m. for its 15th season. The program will be hosted this year by Ohio University students, Juniors Andrew Bowlby and Ashley Frye, and produced by Junior Parker Kopronica. All three are journalism news and information majors.

Hardwood Heroes is a 30-minute high school basketball program that will air each Sunday night at 11 p.m. and repeat on Mondays at 6 p.m. for eight weeks. The program will continue to cover all teams in the Tri-Valley Conference (TVC) with nine boys and nine girls teams getting in-depth multi-media coverage each week.

“We will be covering Alexander, Athens, Eastern, Federal Hocking, Meigs, Nelsonville-York, Trimble, Vinton County and Waterford,” said Kopronica.

Viewers will see many different types of team coverage which include video recaps of games, game breakdowns, engaging social media content and online articles that focus on analysis of the games or community features.
