Bob Boldon gets 200th win at Ohio, Bobcats defeat Eastern Michigan at home
< < Back toATHENS, Ohio (WOUB) — After a disappointing start to MAC play, Ohio needed a win in the worst way possible. Celebrating the Turn It Gold game, Kennedi Watkins’ 1000th career point from Wednesday, and the potential for head coach Bob Boldon’s 200th career win at Ohio, there was too much on the line for the Bobcats to lose, as they took down one-win Eastern Michigan 69-59.
Despite a slow start on offense, Ohio finished shooting 43% from the field, led by Bailey Tabeling with 21 points, 10 rebounds, and four steals. “I think just kind of using my speed, they had a little bit of a smaller guard on me, trying to use my height to my advantage,” Tabeling said, “My teammates just finding me on open shots and me just knocking them down. Rebounding-wise, just kind of pursuing the ball, they had a pretty good post presence.”
Ohio will be back at it on Wednesday night versus Ball State at the Convocation Center.
