STEWART, Ohio (WOUB) — In the final TVC-Hocking game of the season for Federal Hocking, the Lancers hosted the Trimble Tomcats on a very special senior night. Seniors Jaylee Orsborne, Addison Jackson, Olivia Tabler, and Audry Clingenpeel were all celebrated for their dedication to the program before the game. The party continued for Federal Hocking as they beat their conference rivals 59 to 21.
After falling 2 to 0 and a few missed shots from the Lancers, senior Addison Jackson made a 3-pointer to start the scoring off in the most perfect way of the occasion. After early Tomcat triples from Rilynn Fouts and Joelle Richards, the offensive momentum of the game went to Federal Hocking and would not come back.
5 different Lancers getting on the board in the first quarter, as well as consistently forcing tough shots early, allowed them to take control of the game early.
Into the second quarter and beyond, the defensive barrage of Fed Hock continued as the Lancers continued to clog the passing lanes. The Lancers picked up 13 steals in the game as well as only committing 5 turnovers.
The Tomcats were outscored 22 to 3 in the second quarter, due to phenomenal defense as well as excellent shooting from Jaylee Orsborne who had a senior night to remember. Picking up 10 points in the second quarter, and 21 on the night, she was the game’s top scorer.
But the other three seniors also shined bright: Addison Jackson, Olivia Tabler, and Audry Clingenpeel dropped 19 combined points. 9 different players getting on the score sheet, as well as phenomenal defense allowed the Lancers to cruise past the Tomcats in an exceptional way to end TVC-Hocking play.
With conference play for these two squads completed, Trimble ends the year 4-6 in conference play sitting firmly in 4th place. While Federal Hocking ends the year 7-3 in conference play with a chance of tying for 2nd place if Belpre loses to Waterford again. Both teams will take the lessons learned from this game when tournament play ramps up in the following weeks.
