ATHENS, Ohio (WOUB) – The head coach of the Ohio University Women’s Basketball team signed a 4-year contract extension at the end of the 2023-2024 season.

According to documents obtained by WOUB, head coach Bob Boldon’s extension runs through the end of the 2027-2028 season. The base annual salary is $254,607 per season.

The deal came after Boldon’s team made the MAC women’s basketball tournament in 2024 with an 8-10 record in Mid-American Conference play and an 11-19 overall record.

Boldon, Ohio’s winningest head coach in program history, won the MAC Championship in the 2014-2015 season, taking the Bobcats to the NCAA Tournament. Boldon has led Ohio to the WNIT five times in his tenure. He became the head coach of the program before the 2013-2014 season, following a brief three-year stint as Youngstown State’s head coach.

If Boldon were to be bought out between June 1, 2025, and May 31, 2026, the university would have to pay him $375,000. If the university were to buy his contract out between June 1, 2026, and May 31, 2027, it would be required to pay him $150,000.
