NELSONVILLE, Ohio – Six men stemming from Columbus, Athens to Parkersburg are ready to put it all out there, but will they really go “the full monty?” Come see for yourself as ABC Players presents The Full Monty at the historic Stuart’s Opera House (52 Public Square) from March 14-16. The Friday and Saturday performances will start at 7:30 p.m. with 2 p.m. matinees on Sundays.

The Full Monty follows six unemployed Buffalo steelworkers, low on both cash and prospects, as they decide to present a strip act at a local club after seeing their wives’ enthusiasm for a strip act and the cash it can bring in. As they prepare for the show, working through their fears, self-consciousness, and anxieties, they overcome their insecurities and find strength in their camaraderie.

The perfect show for a girls’ night out and for anyone who has struggled with insecurities and the ebbs and flows of relationships, this show is sure to make you empathize with the various stories while leaving a fun and entertaining impression.

The Full Monty is more than just a comedy—it’s a story about resilience, friendship, and embracing who you are,” Alexis Parsons, director of the show, said. “Our cast has poured their hearts into bringing these characters to life, and it has been an absolute joy to collaborate with such a talented and dedicated group of performers. I can’t wait for audiences to experience the laughter, the heart, and the unforgettable energy of this show.”

With music and lyrics by David Yazbek and a book by Terrence McNally, The Full Monty bares it all with heart, comedy and a look inside what a person will do to help provide for their loved ones.

The Full Monty is a show I’ve been dying to do again for 12 years,” Kit Parsons, who plays Jerry, said. “Getting to play Jerry is a full-circle moment for me—it’s kind of personal. Jerry is a good man struggling to keep his life together and be a good father. Even in his worst moments, his kid is still the center of his world. Jerry speaks to me because, flawed as he is, he’s the father I wish I had. No matter what, he works it out for his son; believes in him, genuinely loves him, and would do anything to make sure his son has a better life than he did himself. It may be messy, but that alone makes Jerry almost a great father. It’s personal to me because that’s what a dad should be, that’s what I try to do as a father, and that’s what I wish I had.”

In addition to Kit Parsons, the talented cast includes Seth Fearnow, Stuart Yaden, Brittan Posey, Ivory Mazur and Kevin Kunz as the “Monty Men,” Gabrielle Johnston, Samantha Pelham, Judy Wymer, Quinn Duquette, Sandy Russell, Cameron LaGraff, Conner Medendorp, Gracie Davidson, Jenn Fritchley, Andrea Thompson-Hashman, Joe Balding, Carolyn Harding, Lexi Hoover and Joanna Mansfield-Duquette.

Assisting Alexis Parsons includes Jodi MacNeal as music director, Heather Harmon, Diana Ray, Tara Legar, Jason Morosko, Celeste Parsons, Jim Parsons, Mike Gimmer, Brant Hysel, Matt Fritchley and Todd Coogan.

Tickets are $12.50 for an adult and $8.50 for a student and are available online here or at the door prior to the show.
