GRANVILLE, Ohio (WOUB) — The Sheridan Generals visited the Granville Blue Aces with exactly two weeks until their first regular season game. A friendly scrimmage between two well-known and established high school football programs in the area.

Both teams are almost prepared for the season, but the Generals specifically are tasked with making it back to the postseason after missing out last year, the first time for the program since 2017.

A key component in getting back to the playoffs will be the offensive connection this year of QB Tyce Whiteman and WR Logan Hupp. Whiteman, started at quarterback for the Red Rage last year only as a sophomore. He has learned a ton in the offseason and looks to show how far he has come in just two year.

Looking over to Logan Hupp, he is looking to make his senior year special. Culver when speaking of Hupp says that, “our offense starts with Logan Hupp this year.” The dynamic play-maker also has high hopes for his team this year as he said, “I think we can be the best team in Sheridan history.”

The Generals also return key pieces such as OL/DL Creed Hill and gain a new starting running back in Logan Russell.

Sheridan also returns this year with the same exact schedule as last year, this means the Generals have a chance to face off against teams who defeated them last season (Tri Valley, New Lexington, Licking Valley, Licking Heights.)
