SCIOTOVILLE, Ohio (WOUB)The tension ran high along the Ohio River tonight as the Sciotoville East Tartans hosted the Green Bobcats on their home field. With both teams coming in looking for their first win tonight, the heated matchup ended 46-0 in favor of the home team, East. This was truly a game of impressive offensive might on both sides, and it gave the Tartans a chance to show off their players in a way never seen before.

The game began with a failed kickoff by the visiting Bobcats, which immediately gave the Tartans possession. This started a common thread for the Tartans; they got three pivotal interceptions, including this one, throughout the game to truly dominate the opposing team.

Following that catch, East marched down the field with a big running play by Lindon Williams, who got the first touchdown from the 3-yard line shortly after. Green showed off a good running game in the first quarter, having Leland Blevins catch and run 20 yards down the field, but ultimately it wasn’t enough for the Bobcats to score.

The second quarter began with a bang; East took the ball to start and passed to Isiah White, who ran it all the way for another touchdown, bringing the score up to 14-0 Tartans. He would continue to dominate for the rest of the night, with two touchdowns under his belt and continually impressive plays that put East in a good position against Green. This continued with touchdowns by East’s Levi Boyd and Tanner Baughman, getting multiple players on the board in the first half. The half would end 38-0 in favor of East.

Nothing ended up changing the trajectory of East’s looming victory, but there were certainly some great plays by Green to be found in the second half of this game. Riddick Jenkins caught a long ball to get Green closer to that touchdown that it wanted but ultimately did not receive.

The half was similarly marked by long runs for East, although these were found to be more fruitful in getting points up. Bobby Bryant for East got the ball while on Green’s 44-yard-line and was able to evade all obstacles to get another 6 points on the board. This would be East’s last touchdown, getting the score up to 46-0. Not giving up, Green’s very last play of the game with seconds left ended in an interception by Leland Blevins who ran it 25 yards down before getting stopped just as the time ran out.

Next week, the newly 1-8 Tartans take on the Titans of Notre Dame. Meanwhile, Green has another chance to show off its talent against the Eastern Eagles and improve its 0-8 record.
