Here are the unofficial results for the 2025 general election in Athens County
< < Back toATHENS COUNTY, Ohio (WOUB) — According to unofficial results, 24.43% of registered voters in Athens County cast ballots in the 2025 November general election.
Voters in Nelsonville selected Jonathan R. Flowers with 302 votes to serve as mayor. Fred Holmes received 199 votes and Nancy Sonick received 3 votes. They also selected Andrea Nicole Thompson to serve as auditor with 270 votes. Nicholas Smith received 168 votes.
Voters in the Village of Chauncey selected Frank A. Campbell with 72 votes to serve as mayor for an unexpired term ending 12/31/2028. Evelyn D. Nagy received 52 votes.
Voters in the Village of Coolville selected Tiffany E. Rife Oman with 46votes to serve as mayor for an unexpired term ending 12/31/2027. Curtis Mark Rood received 28 votes.
In the Village of Glouster, voters selected Nathan Simons with 220 votes to serve as mayor for an unexpired term ending 12/31/27. Lucas W. Mace received 78 votes.
Voters in Ames Township selected Brent R. Kasler with 228 votes and Tim McKinley with 123 votes to serve as Trustees. Raymond Allen Quinn received 118 votes.
Voters in Carthage Township selected William L. Guess with 224 votes and Justin Williams with 161 votes to serve as Trustees. Gene Griffis received 101 votes.
Voters in Dover Township selected Danny Brown with 258 votes and Stuart Neal with 238 votes to serve as Trustees. Hubie Cooksey received 182 votes.
Voters in Rome Township selected Aaron McVey with 201 votes and Gary Tino McVey with 180 votes to serve as Trustees. Clarence Bowers received 2 votes.
Voters in the Federal Hocking Local School District selected Mary Mitchell with 709 votes, Angela R. Williams with 643 votes and Gem S. Stone with 574 votes to serve on the Board of Education. Sara Brumfield received 551 votes, Ronda Clark received 444 votes, and Jeremy Miller received 352 votes.
Voters in the Federal Hocking Local School District also selected Aaron A. Tate to serve on the Board of Education for an unexpired term ending Dec. 31, 2027 with 725 votes. Kizzi A. Elmore-Clark received 635 votes.
Voters in the Trimble Local School District selected Carl Fouts III with 655 votes, John R. Standley with 494 votes, and Gary W. Arnold with 375 votes to serve on the Board of Education. Ralph Kevin Coey received 316 votes.
Athens County voters approved a proposed five year 1.8 mills renewal levy to fund the Athens Count Board of Developmental Disabilities with 67% of the ballots in favor. Voters also approved a proposed .25 percent sales and use tax for a period of five years to finance the operations of the 911 system with 63% of the ballots in favor. They also approved a proposed 5 year 1 mill replacement and 0.5 mill increase levy for EMS services with 61% of the ballots in favor.
Voters in the City of Nelsonville approved a proposed year three mills replacement levy for road maintenance with 55% of the ballots in favor.
Voters in the Village of Albany approved a proposed five year 1.5 mills replacement levy for police protection with 70% of the ballots in favor.
Voters in the Village of Buchtel approved proposed five year 2.5 mills current expense levy with 70% of the ballots in favor.
Voters in the Village of Gloucester approved a proposed four year three mills renewal levy for current expenses with 58% of the ballots in favor.
Voters in the Village of Gloucester approved a proposed four year 2.9 mills renewal levy for fire protection with 65% of the ballots in favor.
Voters in the Village of Gloucester approved a proposed four year one mill renewal levy for parks with 59% of the ballots in favor.
Voters in the Village of Glouster approved/rejected a proposed four year one mill renewal levy for street maintenance and improvements with 63% of the ballots in favor.

Voters in Rome Township approved a proposed 5 year 4 mills renewal levy for fire and EMS services with 72% of the ballots cast in favor.
Voters in Rome Township approved a proposed 5 year 1.1 mills replacement levy for cemetery maintenance and operations with 63% of the ballots cast in favor.
Voters in Troy Township rejected a proposed 5 year 2 mills replacement levy for road improvements with 55% of the ballots cast against.
Voters in Troy Township also approved a proposed five year 2 bills replacement levy for fire protection with 52% of the ballots cast in favor.
Voters in Waterloo Township approved a proposed 5 year 1 mill replacement levy for maintaining and operating cemeteries with 60% of ballots cast in favor. They also approved a proposed five year one meal replacement levy for road maintenance with 63% of the ballots cast in favor. Voters also approved a proposed 5 year 2 mills replacement levy for fire protection with 66% of the ballots cast in favor.
Voters in York Township approved a proposed 5 year 2 mills renewal levy for cemetery operations and maintenance with 63% of the ballots cast in favor.
Voters in the Trimble Local School District approved a proposed 1% earned income tax levy for current expenses for a period of five years with 51% of the ballots cast in favor.
