Eastern comes back after being down first half

STEWART, Ohio (WOUB) — The Federal Hocking Lancers (4-13, 2-5) hosted the Eastern Eagles (7-12, 4-4) in an intense matchup for the first half. The Eagles were able to come out on top during the second half.  

The first quarter of the game Federal Hocking was able to keep the lead. Senior guard, Noah Blake was able to hit a three-pointer to put Federal Hocking in the lead starting out. The Lancers were able to extend their lead to 15-8 with a minute left of the first. 

Colton Lloyd was able to put the ball in the hoop for a three, right before the end of the first quarter to bring the gap to four. At the end of the first, the score was 18-11 Federal hocking due to a triple from Blake.  

Over halfway through the second quarter, Mosiah Cottrill fouled Lloyd. Lloyd was not able to sink any of them. But, in return, teammate Sam Balch was able to make a jumper to redeem the points.  

The Eagles were able to get a steal from the Lancers; Hunter Needs to Lloyd to finish off the play. This put Eastern down by six, but Derrick Barnes was able to make a three right before the end of the half to 29-28 with the Lancers up. 

Coming out of halftime, Eastern had a momentum change. The Eagles were able to go on a 7-0 run at the beginning of the third. Now bringing the score 37-32 with Eastern up.  

The Lancers were able to enter bonus during the third quarter but were unable to let it help them to their advantage. The third ended with the Eagles up 50-39.  

Fourth quarter Federal Hocking was trailing behind by 7 going into a timeout with a little over 6 minutes left. The Lancers could not keep up for the rest of the game.  

The Federal Hocking Lancers play the Green Bobcats (8-7, 5-1) on the road Jan. 31, while the Eastern Eagles play at Waterford against the Wildcats (7-9, 4-3) on Feb. 5.
