Meigs dominates against River Valley on Senior Night

POMEROY, Ohio (WOUB) — The Meigs Marauders welcomed the River Valley Raiders to Pomeroy on Friday for a conference matchup.
The first quarter started off close, with both teams doing well offensively. Colben Beucler got it started off for the Marauders with a couple of big threes. He stayed hot from the three-point line, going three for four and ending the first quarter with eleven points. Braden Bennett led for the Raiders with seven. Marauders lead 18-15.
Going into the second quarter, Meigs carried their momentum and pushed their lead to 35-23. Owen Tracy was three for four behind the three-point line. He ended the first half with 13 points. Beucler had eleven and Carson Davis had nine.
Tracy had a big steal in the third quarter that led to a basket. He had 23 points by the end of the quarter, already a season-high for him. Davis added five more points to end with 14, while Beucler only added one more point.
The Raiders really started to heat up and cut the Marauders’ lead to 56-50. Landon Burns was knocking shots down in the paint and led River Valley with 14. He also had eight rebounds. Austin Richardson was just behind him with 12 points.
The Marauders rode their momentum into the fourth and ended with a 77-60 lead. Davis had two big dunks with help from Tracy that got huge reactions from the crowd. Tracy had a stellar game ending with 29 points and eight rebounds. Davis ended with 24 and seven rebounds.
For the Raiders, Burns ended with 17 points and nine rebounds, while Richardson ended with 12 points and four rebounds.
This win is big for Meigs, as they are still in the hunt for a conference title. They will host Nelsonville-York on Monday for another big conference matchup.
The Raiders will travel to River Valley next Thursday to face conference rival Vinton County.
