T1. Meigs Marauders | 14-8 (Conf. 10-2)
Written by: Joshua Hoerner
The one lone-game this week for Meigs was at home against Nelsonville-York on Tuesday. If the Marauders won, they clinched a share of the conference.
Not only did they just win that game, but they also straight up dominated. An 86-60 win was capped off with Carson Davis becoming the Marauders all-time leading scorer. He had 37 points in the contest, in what will go down as one of the best performances this season. Alongside him, Owen Tracy dropped 23, and Colben Beucler added 18. A night to remember for the Meigs big three as they cut down the nets on their home floor.
You’ll find out if you read the next team down just how the conference rankings shook out. Next for the Marauders is their opening playoff game on Monday against Westfall. Those two have already matched up this season, as the Marauders won 49-40.
T1. Wellston Golden Rockets | 17-4 (Conf. 10-2)

Wellston’s long road to their first TVC-Ohio title since 2003 came to a triumphant end this week. The Golden Rockets began the week by narrowly avoiding losing their shot at a title to Athens with a 50-43 overtime win. Wellston followed up that win with a 55-49 win over Ross County Christian Academy. Finally, the Golden Rockets clinched a share of the TVC-Ohio title with a 67-56 road win over Nelsonville-York.
Wellston will try to continue their best season since at least 2005-06 with a playoff win over Northwest next Tuesday.
T3. Nelsonville-York Buckeyes | 11-11 (Conf. 6-6)
Written by: Sam Nolan
Nelsonville-York dropped both of their league games this week. First to Meigs on Tuesday and followed by the loss to Wellston on Friday. Due to this, the Buckeyes fell to a tie for third with Vinton County to finish the regular season. In both losses, the star power became too much for the Buckeyes, as Meigs’ Carson Davis had 37 and Wellston’s Wes Briggs finished with 41.
Nelsonville-York looks ahead to the postseason – as they travel to Eastern (Sardinia) on Tuesday, for the first round of the Division V Southeast District.
T3. Vinton County Vikings | 7-15 (Conf. 6-6)

The Vinton County Vikings played their final regular season games last week against Jackson and conference opponent River Valley. It has been difficult down the stretch for the Vikings, who last won on Feb. 5 against the Meigs Marauders. They struggled to put points on the board in their 62-46 loss to Jackson and were looking for one last conference win against River Valley.
VC would get out to an early lead against the Raiders and would carry that lead into halftime up 25-16. The Vikings continued to score, leading at the end of three, 43-41, but River Valley completely turned their game around. The Raiders were able to mount an impressive comeback, beating VC 65-56 and completing the season sweep. Vinton County will look to snap their six-game losing streak against the Gallia Academy Blue Devils in the postseason tomorrow at 7 p.m.
T5. River Valley Raiders | 9-13 (Conf. 5-7)

River Valley finished their season on a high note this week. The Raiders knocked off Vinton County on the road, winning 65-56. That win was the Raiders’ first TVC-Ohio win since their February 5 win over Alexander.
The Raiders will try to shock everyone by defeating Waverly in the tournament on Monday
T5. Athens Bulldogs | 7-15 (Conf. 4-8)

The Athens Bulldogs played one game this past week. They traveled to Wellston to take on the Golden Rockets in a match that was rescheduled from earlier in the season. Athens led early, propelled by senior Hayden Hughes’ 19 points, but Wes Briggs and crew stormed back to send the game to overtime 43-43. In overtime, Wellston took siege over the extra period, defeating the Bulldogs with a series of free throws and solid defensive coverage against Athens. Briggs finished the game with fifteen points.
With conference play and the regular season wrapped up, the Bulldogs finished the regular season with a record of 7-15. They won half of their conference games, ending in sixth place on the TVC-Ohio.
Athens landed the eighth seed in Division III Region Eleven and will face one-seeded Miami Trace on Tuesday. The Panthers are one of the toughest units in the region, propelled by senior Adam Guthrie.
7. Alexander Spartans |4-19(Conf. 1-11)
Written by: Katie Bailey
The Alexander Spartans season came to an end this past week after a tough loss in the first round of the OHSAA state tournament. Alexander was matched up against Dawson Bryant from Coal Grove. This game was a play-in game for both teams to hopefully see who would play against the Ironton Tigers in the Southeast Ohio Division Two district quarter finals. Unfortunately, the Spartans weren’t able to get a win, and Coal Grove won, 59-47.
