Athens’ city income tax hike narrowly passes according unofficial 2026 Primary Election results for Athens County

ATHENS COUNTY, Ohio (WOUB) – According to unofficial results, 21% of registered voters in Athens County cast ballots in the 2026 May primary election.
Voters in the city of Athens approved an additional 0.2% income tax levy 973 to 965.
Voters in Trimble Township xxx to renew a 5-year 1.4 mills levy for fire protection….
Voters in Troy Township xxx an additional 5-year 2 mills levy for street maintenance…
Voters in the Village of Albany rejected an additional 5-year 3 mills levy for street maintenance 66 to 63.
Voters in the Village of Amesville approved a five- year 4 mills renewal levy for current village expenses 36 to 11 and approved a five- year 3 mills renewal levy for fire protection 35 to 12.
Voters in the Village of Buchtel rejected an additional 5-year 5 mills levy for current village expenses 37 to 30.
Voters in the Village of Jacksonville approved a 5-year 3.2 mills renewal levy for current village expenses 24 to 17 and approved a 5-year 3 mills renewal levy for fire protection 24 to 17.
