HILLSBORO, Ohio (WOUB) – The Hillsboro Indians went up against the Warren Warriors for their week four match up. It was a tough game for both sides as they both could barely hold onto the lead. But in the end the Warren warriors remained victorious with a final score of 50-47.

The first quarter started off strong for Warren as the worked the ball down the field to start off the game with a TD by WR Charles Lewis bringing the score to 7-0. The very next drive the Indians fired right back with a TD by RB Malakai Aber who ran it a staggering 70 yards into the endzone off the punt.

Unfortunately for Hillsboro though they were unable to make the field goal, so they were only able to push the score to 7-6. The Warriors retaliated with a TD by WR Jason Venham bringing Warren back into the lead 14-6. The Indians didn’t give up so easily and retaliated with a TD from RB Tre Captain bringing the score to 19-14.

Warren also wasn’t so easily beaten ending the quarter with a TD from QB Braylen Murray ending the quarter 21 – 19 with the Warriors in the lead.

The second quarter was not as good for either team as there were no TDs in this quarter. Both defenses held strong and didn’t falter at all. There was also a number of penalties on each side which did not help. The second quarter ended with the same score it started with 21-19 Warren in the lead.

The third quarter could not more different from the previous one as it started off strong for the Indians as Captain ran the ball in and brought the score to 27-21. Warren fought back with another TD by Murray bringing the Warriors back into the lead 28-27.

Hillsboro didn’t relent and pulled back into the lead with another TD by Captain bringing it to 35-28. Warren didn’t give up and tied the score 35-35 at the end of the quarter with a TD by Venham.

The fourth quarter followed the same beat as the third quarter. Starting off with a TD by RB Johnny Malone bringing Hillsboro into the lead. Warren shot back with a TD by Lewis bringing Warren back into the lead 42-41.

The Indians weren’t beat just yet as they bounced back with a TD from Captain again bringing the score 47-42. Captain was on fire during this game as he tied the Hillsboro record for most TDs in a single game. In the end Warren scored the final TD by Murray bringing the final score of the game to 50-47 with a win for the Warriors.

The Hillsboro Indians hope to end their losing streak at home against the Williamsburg Wildcats on Sept. 18. While the Warren Warriors aim to continue the momentum by facing the Eastern Eagles on Sept. 18.
