Bloom-Carroll wins 14th straight over Fairfield Union

LANCASTER, Ohio (WOUB) — The energy was high at Fairfield Union for a matchup against their rival Bloom-Carroll. It was a close and physical matchup for most of the game until the Bulldogs broke away in the fourth quarter to take the victory 30-13.
Bloom-Carroll would start the first half with the football, but a good return was brought back after a flag for an illegal block in the back, starting their drive off at the 20-yard line. The Falcon defense would force a quick three-and-out; a punt on the opening drive gave them the ball at their 37-yard line.
Fairfield Union would get the first-first down at the 45-yard line. Quarterback Dean Clark would deliver a 45-yard dime to receiver Kohen Arnett to give the Falcons a 7-0 lead. The Bulldogs would bite right back, and Kyson Cline broke multiple tackles to tie this one at 7-7 just one minute later.
This game was a defensive battle from the start, with each team getting big stops in their own zones. Bloom-Carroll would start the second quarter with the ball at the Falcon 31-yard line and would drive the ball down all the way to the Fairfield Union red zone. Quarterback keeper from Caiden Schooley on a fourth down would put the Bulldogs up 14-7.
The first half would end with the Bulldogs up only one score, and the Falcons would receive the ball to start the third quarter. The defense would shine again in the second half with both teams forcing fumbles on back-to-back drives. Clark would drive into the end zone but fumble it for a touchback, and the Bulldogs would take over at the 20-yard line.
Schooley would find Chase Allen for a long touchdown to extend the Bloom-Carroll lead, 21-7. The Bulldogs would keep their foot on the gas to win 30-13 over the Falcons.
Fairfield Union heads to Liberty Union next week, while Bloom-Carroll will host Logan-Elm.
