Scott To Cowboys Camp
< < Back to scott-cowboys-campTremayne Scott didn’t hear his name called two weeks ago at the NFL Draft, and wasn’t one of two Bobcats to sign as an undrafted free agent. But the former Ohio defensive end has been awarded a three-day tryout with the Dallas Cowboys that could land him a spot on an NFL roster.
Scott missed much of his senior season, going down with a foot injury in week four and returning for the Bobcats win in the AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl. The injuries, plus a woeful performance at the Ohio Pro Day didn’t help Scott’s chances of getting drafted though. The 6-foot-3, 260-pound end looked sluggish and out of shape in front of NFL Scouts at the event.
But now Scott will get the chance to show scouts whether or not he’s the same player that terrorized Louisiana-Monroe in Ohio’s 45-14 drubbing, racking up five tackles, two sacks and an interception in the game. A three-year starter at Ohio, Scott earned All-MAC Second Team honors following the 2011 season and was on College Football Performance Awards Defensive Lineman Trophy watch list before the 2012 season.
From Friday through Sunday, Scott, along with other undrafted free agents will compete in the Cowboys’ rookie camp. They will battle alongside the Cowboys’ 2013 Draft picks in two-a-day practices Friday and Saturday plus one Sunday practice in hopes of making the team.
